Jhansi to Orchha taxi: one way drop or a day tour
Orchha is 20km from Jhansi by road, and the drive takes about 30 minutes. Jhansi Taxi runs it from the station or your hotel. You can book a one way drop, or a day tour that waits and brings you back.
Pick the trip that fits your plan
There are two ways to book this road, and the right one depends on where you sleep that night.
Book a one way drop if you are staying in Orchha. The car takes you and your bags to the hotel and leaves. The fixed fare covers 20km, which is the whole run from Jhansi.
Book a day tour if you are seeing Orchha and coming back to Jhansi the same day. The day tour fare covers the first 40km, which is about the drive there and back. While you walk around, the car waits for you, and waiting is charged by the hour. Any km past the first 40 are charged by the km.
A rough rule: if you will be back in Jhansi before dark, the day tour is simpler. If you want the evening in Orchha, take the drop and book a car back the next day.
What the taxi costs
The one way fare for each car is below. It is a fixed fare for the whole car, not per seat.
| Car | Base fare | Per km | Minimum km |

| Sedan, 4 seats | ₹0 | ₹15 | 150 km |
| SUV, 6 seats | ₹0 | ₹20 | 150 km |
| Premium SUV, 6 seats | ₹0 | ₹24 | 150 km |
Tolls and parking are paid at actuals. For the day tour, choose the places and how long the car should wait. The booking form shows the fare before you book.

What a day tour usually covers
A day tour in Orchha is short on driving and long on walking. The car drops you near each place and waits. The main sights are the Ram Raja temple, the palaces and the chhatris on the Betwa. Tell us which ones you want when you book, so the driver can plan the order and the waiting time.
When to go
October to March is the easiest time to visit Orchha, before the summer heat. Ram Navami brings large crowds to the Ram Raja temple, so plan a little more waiting time that day. Morning starts work well. You walk the palaces before the heat of the afternoon.
Finding the car in Orchha
The lanes around the Ram Raja temple are narrow, so the car often stops a short walk away. Keep your phone on. Call the driver when you are ready, and the car comes to you.
